Description
QBU-BT-series consist of six Pockels cell drivers, designed for different output voltages (ranging up to 6.0 kV) and operating schemes [see also How to Order (?) section].
All drivers allow functionality in three different operating modes [pull down scheme (= normally on), push up scheme (= normally off) and external synchronization mode (= repetition of the external low voltage TTL signal)] and therefore suit ideally for the laboratory usage.
High repetition rates and fast transition times are additional benefits of QBU-BT-series Pockels cell drivers.
Performance
In internal synchronization mode performance of QBU-BT-series (from QBU-BT-1004 to QBU-BT-6024) is limited with values given in table below. Total load capacitance of Pockels cell and connective cable is assumed as 23 pF (this corresponds to fairly long 50 cm HV cable bent in non-optimal way and higher than normal Pockels cell capacitance).
Output voltage, kV | Repetition rate, kHz (*) |
---|---|
0.40 – 0.79 | 296 |
0.80 – 1.19 | 200 |
1.20 – 1.39 | 160 |
1.40 – 1.59 | 130 |
1.60 – 1.79 | 110 |
1.80 – 1.99 | 90 |
2.00 – 2.49 | 56 |
2.50 – 2.99 | 40 |
3.00 – 3.49 | 31 |
3.50 – 3.99 | 24 |
4.00 – 4.49 | 18 |
4.50 – 4.99 | 15 |
5.00 – 5.49 | 12 |
5.50 – 6.00 | 9-11 |
Higher performance can be achieved in external synchronization mode. In burst mode (i.e. for short term operations), the performance increases by at least a factor of two and exceeds 100 kHz at low operating voltages and low load capacitances. The performance deteriorates for higher load capacitance.
