A manufacturer of medical laser equipment asked us for CW diode driver for their novel surgical laser system. The most critical parameter was compact dimensions, other requirements were rather moderate, namely 10 A / 20 V CW (200 W). A compact diode driver, as small as 40×60 mm was developed and now is regularly supplied to the customer in small batches.
CW diode driver CDD‑20
It was developed in response to a manufacturer of illumination systems enquiry. 1200 W diode driver with 30 A / 40 V parameters and DC input was needed to replace an existing AC / DC solution. Due to high diode compliance voltage a solution with 48 V DC input and 50×90 mm dimensions has been offered and accepted by the customer. Now the driver is regularly supplied to the customer in small batches.
CW diode driver SDC‑1A
A Ring laser gyroscope manufacturer has looked for a custom diode driver, operating with quite low current (1 A CW). Such a device was developed by OEM Tech. The most critical requirements were related to operating temperature range and shock/vibration stability of the drivers. After delivery of prototypes and a pre-serial batch of 200 units, the technology of the driver was transferred to the customer for further production at their site.
Pulsed diode driver for Nd:YAG pumping SDC‑400A
We have received a request from a local manufacturer of Nd:YAG lasers for producing a pulsed diode driver for their DPSS lasers based on diodes and pump chambers by different vendors like Laserconn (China), Inject (Russia) and others. The required parameters varied from 50 A / 400 V through 150 A / 150 V to 400 A / 50 V. An IGBT based pulsed diode driver with onboard TEC controller has been offered. Different output current and voltage combinations were taken into account at the design stage. The 2nd iteration of the driver is currently under development and will be offered as a standard product soon.
Laboratory diode driver PDD‑BT
A scientific customer from the local research center asked us for the laboratory modification of SDC‑400A diode driver to pump their pulsed DPSS Nd:YAG laser. Required parameters were 150 A, 150 V, 300 us, 30 Hz.
All-in-one solution including diode driver itself, buffer voltage source (PBZ‑300), AC / DC power supply, controller and mechanics has been offered by OEM Tech and supplied to the customer in a small quantity.
