A customer from medical field asked us to develop a power supply for novel flashlamp based UV sterilization equipment. A thyristor based solution with 4 kV, 5 kA parameters was proposed as a discharge circuit and was sucessfully realized by us. A powerful simmer supply with 700 V / 1500 mA parameters capable to drive very large U-shaped flashlamps was developed as a part of the project. Another custom item created for the project was 4 kV modification of PCA-20 capacitor charger.
MF Pulser (NBZ-2050)
A manufacturer of medical equipment asked us to develop a power supply for magnetic field muscle stimulation aesthetic device. A dual-channel thyristor based power suppy with 2 kV, 5 kA, up to 100 Hz in each channel power supply was suggested and developed on R & D basis. Recuperation of energy and simple input voltage requirements were the special features of the design. An end goal of 2 T magnetic field strength was succesfully achieved.
A customer asked us to develop a PWM based discharge circuit producing trully rectangular flashes of variable pulse length for use in IPL laser machine. A custom solution was offered and realized in two iterations. The result of the first iteration is shown on the right. The second iteration different with the significantly increased average power requirements became a standard product (see description of NBD‑0505‑PWM for the details).
Custom discharge circuit for defence applications (NBU‑0405)
One of our customers has looked for electronics for range-finding applications. The operating parameters required from the discharge circuit were 400 V, 500 A. It was mandatory that the devices should also be stable to shock and vibration, have an extended range of operating temperatures and be conductively cooled. The project was successfully performed on an R & D basis, the device was developed and all the engineering documentation describing the production technology was delivered to the customer.
